Customer Service Representative

Description

Under the direction of the Inside Sales Manager, the Customer Service Representative works independently and cooperatively with members of the sales team to respond to customer inquiries while proactively cultivating existing accounts for growth. Experience with electric motors, pumps, compressors, fans, extruders, conveyors and other industrial equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provides superior customer service to customers via telephone and email

  • Accurately enters, tracks, and prepares quotes, orders, backorders, and RMAs

  • Documents all communication, sales activity and market data in CRM system

  • Increases account penetration by regularly calling on existing customer accounts

  • Engages customers into ‘closing’ conversations on every call as means to increase sales

  • Monitors scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed

  • Develops and maintains product knowledge to successfully interpret customer needs and recommend products and solutions

  • Meets professional goals and works effectively with other team members

  • Enthusiastically participates in process improvements and ongoing training

  • Maintains proficiency in using computer, data entry and other common office equipment and software

  • Follows company policies and procedures

  • Presents a professional image to customers and vendors

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Minimum 3-years customer service experience in a related industry

  • Strong phone presence and high comfort level dealing with technical and sometimes complex requirements

  • Mechanical abilities and aptitude with technical understanding of manufacturing a plus

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently

  • Ability to manage change pro-actively in response to customer and sales staff needs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • High School degree or equivalent mandatory - Technical or vocational school training a plus
